"Before I started training with JJ the extent of my workouts were a few isolation exercises which resulted in little muscle gain. I knew I just needed guidance but JJ offered much more than that. He started me off doing free weight excersises such as step-ups and lunges for about 40 minutes. I thought they were a silly waste of time and it felt uncomfortable doing these movements. but before long I was doing compound movements and my weight was climbing fast along with my max reps. Long story short with the help of JJ I had put on 30 kilos in the space of a year. JJ always went the extra mile, he not only made me food plans from the very beginning but went to the supermarket with me and even came over and showed me how to prepare the meals. He not only guided my weightlifting and diet JJ was a mentor someone I could always rely on to talk about anything. "I was introduced to JJ approximately one year ago and tried the Mindset Fitness programme for my two sons (age 13 and 16). JJ’s programme was extremely innovative because he starts with a focus on attitude towards nutrition and individual motivators before starting the physical training part of the program. He taught the boys how to prepare healthy style meals as well the shopping process beforehand. The programs were tailor-made for each boy. One boy needed to lose weight while the other needed to gain weight and the results have been amazing! "In early 2015 I was in a mediocre state. I was lacking energy throughout the week, unhappy with my overall productivity and unmotivated to prepare for the sports season. Overall I was becoming anxious with myself, which further spiralled my negative state. The KFC Colonel and I had become very acquainted, as I regularly ate takeaways while contemplating when I should begin my life transition. Overall I was lacking direction, a positive mindset and the inspiration to achieve. I elected to get in touch with the director of Mindset fitness, JJ Economu to help support my lifestyle transition for several reasons. JJ helped support me lose 20kgs within 4 months a few years ago, so I knew how successful the Mindset program is. Being a teacher I also valued his caring, motivational and engaging coaching method. In addition, his ability to truly change people’s mind set from deficit thinking and negative state of mind to one of positivity and happiness is remarkable. I began the four week foundational program with the overall goal of increasing daily energy levels, fitness improvement and a transition in Mindset. "Towards the end of 2014 I suffered a knee injury which over the following 10 months was treated by the fitting of a leg brace, physiotherapy and then visits to an orthopedic surgeon, who following x-rays and scans advised me to "come back when the pain was too severe to endure and a knee replacement would be done". Not convinced this was the path I wanted to go down, my hairdresser suggested I contact JJ at Mindset Fitness. After an initial chat, and JJ explaining to me how he came to be in the fitness industry, I was convinced JJ was the person to "fix" my knee. Eight months down the track following twice weekly sessions with JJ I am almost pain free, have increased mobility, stronger muscles around both knees, can walk 15 kms no trouble and as a bonus have lost about 8kg. All of this would not have been possible without JJ. JJ has a great personality, a very personable young man who is interested in his clients, has extensive knowledge, is happy to explain the different exercises and how those exercises are helping to improve your specific problem and is always happy to answer any questions. He is very focused on how he can help his clients achieve the goals they have set themselves and motivates you to achieve those goals.
